EarthGang speak out on data centers at the UN General Assembly
EarthGang have long mixed music with activism, and this fall they took that message to New York. While world leaders met for the 81st UN General Assembly, Olu and Doctur Dot spoke with the outlet Connecting Africa about the environmental cost of the data centers powering the AI boom, especially in Africa.
Their position was blunt: build data centers sustainably and fairly, or don't build them at all. It fits a theme fans will recognize. The duo spent their whole "EarthGang vs. the Algorithm" era questioning how technology shapes our lives, and this is that idea moving from the studio to the real world.
Johnny Venus solo project on the October release radar
Olu, who also records as Johnny Venus, appears on Consequence's list of upcoming October 2026 releases with a project called The 11th Hour. Details are still thin, so treat the date as tentative until the group's official channels confirm it. We'll update this page when the tracklist and release date are locked in.
EarthGang write their own comic book
The duo moved into comics this spring with EarthGang and The Wheel of Fate #1, made with Zero Zero Entertainment. Olu and WowGr8 wrote the story themselves. It follows the pair to Tokyo, where a recording session inside an old temple pulls them into a fight against an AI that feeds on human attention.
If that sounds familiar, it should. The plot reads like a sequel to Perfect Fantasy, the 2024 album where they blended Atlanta and Japanese pop culture and cast "the algorithm" as the final boss.
"Look Into My Eyes" with Of The Trees kicks off the year
EarthGang opened 2026 with "Look Into My Eyes," a collaboration with electronic producer Of The Trees, plus a music video. The pairing carried into the festival season, with both acts booked at Ohio's Secret Dreams festival in early September after EarthGang's March set at KASSO FEST in Long Beach.
