New to EarthGang? A five-step listening guide

Where to start with EarthGang: a beginner-friendly path through their albums, from Mirrorland to the early tapes.

EarthGang has more than a dozen projects, so it can be hard to know where to begin. Here's the path we'd recommend to a friend.

Step 1: Mirrorland (2019)

Start here. It's their most accessible album, with big hooks, guests like T-Pain and Young Thug, and a concept inspired by The Wiz. Listen front to back. Our Mirrorland guide.

Step 2: Revenge of the Dreamers III (2019)

You don't need the whole compilation. Find "Down Bad," "Sacrifices," and "1993." They show EarthGang next to J. Cole, JID, and the rest of Dreamville, and "Down Bad" earned them a Grammy nomination. More here.

Step 3: Spilligion (2020)

Now meet the family. Spillage Village's quarantine album is warm and spiritual, and it shows how EarthGang works in a group. Spillage Village explained.

Step 4: Ghetto Gods (2022), then Perfect Fantasy (2024)

Ghetto Gods is the grounded Atlanta record. Perfect Fantasy is the wild, Japan-inspired independent album with Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, and Damon Albarn. Hearing them back to back shows how far the duo is willing to range. Ghetto Gods guide and Perfect Fantasy guide.

Step 5: Go back to the beginning

Once you're hooked, dig into Shallow Graves for Toys (2013) and Strays with Rabies (2015). They're rawer and stranger, and they're where the cult following started. Our early-years guide.
